This book presents the actualization of Neo-Sufism by studying one of the largest tariqas in Indonesia: The Tariqa Qadiriyya Naqshabandiyya Pondok Pesantren Suryalaya (TQN PP Suryalaya). This book examines the continuity and reform of the tariqa during three periods under three Sufi sheikhs in the changing Indonesian world. The study shows how the tariqa survived in a situation where it had to face the challenges of its time especially in the time of modernization and globalization; its efforts to engage in global expansion using all available means of travel and especially modern mass media and social media. There has been a changing awareness from within the tariqa of its expanding social and political role outside the tariqa'.

Lastly, the book sees the advent of yet another form of Neo Sufisme in all these developments.
